Uwe Hahn was born in Germany in 1972. After a traineeship as a chemical laboratory assistant at Bayer AG, Leverkusen, Germany, during 1992-1995, he studied Chemistry at the University of Bonn, Germany, where he graduated in 2000 with a diploma degree and in 2003 with a doctoral degree in organic and supramolecular chemistry under the supervision of Prof. F. Vögtle working on dendrimers for diagnostic applications. After a six months period as a postdoctoral researcher in the group of Prof. L. De Cola at the University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands, he returned to the University of Bonn as a research associate in the group of Prof. F. Vögtle. From 2004 to 2006, he worked in the group of Dr. J.-F. Nierengarten at the University of Strasbourg, France, and later on at the Laboratoire de Chimie de Coordination in Toulouse, France. From 2007 to 2011 he was member of the group of Prof. T. Torres at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Spain, where he held a Ramón y Cajal fellowship. Since November 2011, he was recruited by the CNRS as CR1 in the group of Dr. J.-F. Nierengarten at the University of Strasbourg, France.
